It is also the last meeting of RCIA & Adult Faith Formation
At this time, let us all offer thanks to the many catechists and leaders that share their time and talent throughout the year. The heart of our faith formation and faith sharing programs are the dedication of our catechists and leaders and their willingness to share their faith. If you have not done so in the past, please prayerfully consider being a catechist or volunteering in the upcoming year! You are truly a blessing to our parish. See you at the Ministry Fair in August.

Helping Hands Ministry: Are you looking for a meaningful way to put your faith into action for our church community? St. Philip's Helping Hands Ministry needs a visionary coordinator to lead volunteers in assisting parishioners who are temporarily incapacitated due to illness or injury.
The ministry provides errand running, transportation to medical appointments, light housekeeping, cooking, and other types of short term assistance. The ministry has significant growth potential as a segment of St. Philip's new Pastoral Care initiative. An active volunteer base is already in place. Call Vicki Vogt, Social Action Ministry Chair at 791-1232 for additional information.
Loaves and Fishes: This ministry needs new leaders. This position is responsible for recruiting volunteers for monthly trip to Loaves & Fishes in Nashville to prepare, serve, and clean up after 160 meals for the hungry.
In addition, the leaders ensure adequate stocks of non-perishables are on hand for the meals and also purchase perishables. This ministry also collects toiletries for the Christmas Basket ministry's nursing home program. For more info., call Rena or John Burns at 794-7411.

The photo Directories are scheduled to be here on January 19th. The book was delayed for two specific reasons. We extended photo dates into September and had an additional 214 families get their pictures taken. This was worth the delay, and at that time it looked as if the books would be here at the beginning of December. However, when Father John left the Church in October, we had to do some major revisions that delayed the release, and was unforeseeable. That said, the proofs look great, and we believe you will be proud of the end result.
As we get closer to the date, we will announce how the books will be distributed. The books are only for Parishioners who had their pictures made. We still have plenty of the guide books and Directories issued in August and they are for anyone in he Church. Please see anyone in the office for your personal copy of the Guide book and Directory. But the Photo Directory is reserved only for the families who had pictures made.

St. Philip Parish raised almost $4,500 to help Tennessee National Guardsmen get home from Camp Shelby Mississippi to spend Christmas with their Families before shipping out to Afghanistan in January.
The money collected this past weekend in a second collection helped raise money to purchase the cost of a bus ride home and back to the camp for many of our Tennessee friends and neighbors who will have to ship out.
A certificate of appreciation was awarded to St. Philip Parishioner John Burns from Deacon (Lt. Col) Krenson for initiating the idea here at St. Philip to help the guard out. Thank you St. Philip for your generosity.
