Graceworks

Volunteers from St. Philip support Graceworks Ministries by helping those in need. Assistance is needed in the Thrift Store, Office, Food Pantry, Senior Transportation, Parish Nurse and Home Visitation programs. They also rely on our monetary, food, clothing, household, and furniture donations.


Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is an organization dedicated to the elimination of sub-standard housing.  Volunteer labor and donated materials are utilized to build homes for those who otherwise would not be able to afford a home. The Williamson County affiliate originated from the St. Philip Adult Education group.


Helping Hands

The Helping Hands ministry is a chance for even the busiest people to get involved. This ministry provides short-term assistance to St. Philip parishioners who are going through a difficult time in their lives due to illness, accident, or other infirmity. Helping Hands provides errand running, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, cooking/delivering a meal, transportation to a medical appointment, and other miscellaneous personal help. Ministry members may assist as much or as little as preferred!


Haiti Ministry

This is a relatively new ministry which seeks to move beyond simply sending financial support to our twinned parish. We made an initial visit to St. Charles Borromee in Le Borgne Haiti last year, and hosted the pastor on a return visit to St. Philip.We hope to send another survey team to Haiti early in 2010 to assess further plans on ways to help the parish.


Loaves and Fishes

Loaves and Fishes provides St. Philip parishioners a monthly opportunity to prepare and serve meals to the poor and homeless at Holy Name Church in Nashville.


Meals on Wheels

Ministry Lead: Earl & Sylvia Fallaw . 615-794-4326

The Meals on Wheels ministry is coordinated with other churches in the community to serve meals to homebound individuals. Drivers and cooks are needed. Time commitment can vary.  Drivers are needed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; only on the fourth week of the month. Cooking is only needed on the fourth Friday of each month.


Mission Trip

Each summer upcoming freshmen through graduated seniors in high school travel to other cities for a weeklong service project. Teens from parishes across the country are brought together in projects ranging from small household repairs (painting), working with underprivileged children and food pantries. The mission trip is not only about service. Leaders encourage youth to grow in their faith and fellowship with members of their own parish as well as other parishes. Youth are expected to participate in fund-raising events throughout the year, including a pasta dinner, bake sales and a carwash.


Respect Life

This ministry is dedicated to a  respect for all human life; the unborn, the elderly, the disabled, victims of crime, drug abuse and pornography. Through education and a public information effort, the ministry works to identify and address pro-life issues and needs of the parish and community. Various activities have included the spiritual adoption of unborn unknown babies, a letter writing campaign in support of pro-life legislation, the organization of programs addressing respect for life issues, and support of the Crisis Pregnancy Center.


Safe Haven

On a monthly basis, 2 families from the parish provide and serve the five families who are residents at the family shelter, Safe Haven in Nashville, the only family shelter in the area and provides life skills classes including budgeting, child care skills, etc. This is a great opportunity to involve the whole family and introduce stewardship to your children.


Saint Philip Night

Every adult member of the parish   is invited to participate in this fun-filled evening in October packed with delicious food, good friends, and great auction items.  The money raised from this event goes to support St. Philip Outreach Programs.  Volunteers help organize and host the event.
